Art Exhibit Installation Assistant - Contract - Temporary Work • Assists the Head Preparator in the installation of exhibitions • Prepares and paints walls for next exhibition. • Builds exhibition pedestals, walls, and support furniture for exhibitions. Assist in multiple aspects of exhibit installation ● Follows instructions Demonstrates a good knowledge of standard museum procedures with an emphasis on object handling and care. ● Knowledge and experience in exhibit design, lighting techniques and technologies, carpentry, graphics, and audio-visual. ● Possesses the ability to work well with a multitude of people. ● Maintains professional working relationships with all staff. ● Must be a team player. ● Experience in art exhibitions with a thorough knowledge of best practices in preservation, insurance, object handling, ● Physical Requirements: This position requires a high level of physical endurance. The employee must be physically able: ● To sit, stand, walk and climb stairs throughout the facility for extended periods of time on any workday ● To lift and carry at least 50 pounds and more ● To climb up and down ladders ● To paint walls and sculpture stands ● To bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials ● To move crates off trucks for unpacking, packing, and storing
