ANAHEIM, CA —Will Disney themed face masks be the next mouse ears?
Disneyland Resort and Disney Consumer Products debuted their line of cloth face masks as a way to embrace the changes that are upon us in the time of coronavirus. Using the timeless stories and beloved characters, the product line is adding face masks to their offering, due to release this summer. Promising to donate a portion of the sales from their masks, Disneyland has now said they raised enough to furnish one million cloth face masks to those in need.
Favored styles of the Disney themed cloth face masks include the classic Minnie and mickey, character faces of Mickey, Winnie the Pooh, Stitch, and Marie cat, popular Pixar characters, Princesses, Marvel, and now Star Wars.
This is a non-surgical mask, and is intended to be used during the coronavirus outbreak, the consumer products division says.
Disney is donating one million cloth face masks for children and families in under-served and vulnerable communities across the U.S. that will be distributed by medshare.
"Due to overwhelming demand, we're thrilled to share that we have reached our goal of raising $1 million in profits from the sales of our cloth face masks," they reported. The masks will be donated to MedShare to support the medical community's ongoing efforts to provide lifesaving care to those in need.
