Description
I'm a 50-year drummer that has been playing for over 30 years, currently looking to either join an existing group or start a band.
I played in a couple of bands throughout my high school, college, and post-graduation years, doing bar and small club gigs. Then, I took a 15-year break from the drums but returned to playing three years ago. Recently, I played on-and-off with a guitarist and bassist for the past year, but it seems to have fallen apart.
I like various styles of music (Neo-Soul, Hip Hop), but I primarily played rock (classic and 90s). My last band (1995 – 2000) was a 4-piece in the vane of 311, Living Colour, Incubus, etc., but I don't have an ideal group or music style in mind. I would be happy to play some covers and write original music to play gigs eventually. It could be a funk band with a horn section, a Classic rock cover band, or a trio like The Police or Rush (my favorite bands). More importantly, I'm looking for a group of easy-going people who leave politics and attitudes outside. I have a family and a full-time career, and this should be about having fun. In addition, I have been fully vaccinated and boosted.
I have a professional drum kit, but I don't have rehearsal space big enough for a band. However, I would be willing to help pay for practice space. If this sounds interesting to you, please feel free to contact me.
