NOT SO FAST, Mr. Green Jeans: The easiest, quickest and cheapest path to cutting off tyrants, is to DRILL, BABY, DRILL !!! We need to produce more of our OWN oil. -- The benefits are numerous. One big thing is, America can produce more oil, and do it CLEANER, than any other country on the planet. Russia, Iran, and pretty much all other energy-producing nations do it in the dirtiest ways possible, for maximum profit. Only in America, can we produce oil cleanly and cheaply to the American public. America is sitting on more oil and natural gas than any other country. We need to be using it, especially right NOW. We can not only produce enough to supply ourselves, but we can produce enough to take customers away from these tyrannical regimes. We can hurt Russia and Iran badly, by selling more American oil to Europe. Electrics are still a long way off, because they have their own unique environmental and security challenges. A few examples: 1) Only a person with a house and secure garage, can charge an electric vehicle overnight, without being robbed or vandalized. 2) Lithium mines are FAR WORSE for the environment, than drilling a hole in the ground to extract oil. 3) Wild animals in Alaska and other super-cold climates have learned to snuggle up to oil pipelines for warmth and shelter, during harsh winters. 4) The Keystone pipeline would replace thousands of dirty, accident-prone, trucks and trains that carry Canada's oil to the Gulf of Mexico. 5) Until they make an electric pickup truck that can pull a trailer for 300 miles on a charge, the electric truck market is only for rich posers.
