Description

This posting is for one (1), or all, five (5), Comet Goldfish pictured. They range in size from 4 inches to 7 inches. They didn't want to hold still for the photo op, so sorry for the fuzzy pics. These fish are FREE, to be adopted / rehomed as PETS only (not food), and only to those that already have an appropriately sized aquarium that is ready for the fish. We can discuss what is essential for a proper set-up. Potential new owners must also pass our 10 question "Will You Make A Good Fish Parent?" questionnaire (see below). Comets can live 20+ years and can grow up to 12 inches long or more. We will require a minimum of a 20 gallon aquarium for the 4" and 40 gallon for the 7" goldfish. If adopting all, a 75 gallon aquarium minimum will be need. And, as your fish grow, your aquarium needs to grow. If intending to have them in an outdoor pond, then we can discuss those specific needs. Underfeeding to keep fish small is ANIMAL CRUELTY. Releasing pets and or invasive species into the wild is ANIMAL CRUELTY (to that animal and animals that are native). It is also seriously detrimental to the existing ecosystem. Our Red Eared Slider, a former Humane Society member, has let her feeder fish that we purchased at PetSmart grow up. Lesson learned: only feed live minnow or equivalent, NOT Comet goldfish to our turtle. She previously ate feeder Comets, but then lost her appetite for them. LOL Pick Up Only (NO Shipping). If unable to continue caring for the fish, we require that they be returned to us, no questions asked. "Will You Make A Good Fish Parent?" 1. Have you successfully owned fish in the past and if not, how much research have you done? 2. Do you have time and money to properly care for fish? 3. Is your abode large enough for the aquarium(s)? 4. Do you have a location for the fish that is not in direct sunlight? 5. Do you have other animals &/or human childeren that will tolerate and respect the fish? 6. Are you prepared to properly transport the fish? 7. Are you transporting and relocating the fish within a 30 minute timeframe? 8. How do you plan on caring for the fish if you are away for longer than 24 hours? 9. Are you planning to keep the fish with any other freshwater aquatics? 10. Why would you like to adopt the fish?
