Coronavirus Cases Top 230 In Malvern Area

MALVERN, PA — More than 230 people in Malvern, Willistown, Charlestown, and East Whiteland have the coronavirus, according to the latest data provided by Chester County Friday. Friday's data show a total of 238 cases total in all four municipalities. Willistown Township has the most cases with 122 cases, as well as the most deaths with 48. In East Whiteland, there are 75 cases. The township has seen just one death related to the virus. Charlestown Township has 27 cases and no deaths. And in Malvern Borough, there are just 14 cases and no deaths. Chester County overall has seen 291 deaths and 2,999 cases. Of the county's 291 deaths, 236 have been nursing home residents. The county is reporting a 57 percent recovery rate from the virus and has had 15,313 negative test results come back, as of Friday.
