Bluegrass pickers wanted for jam (West Des Moines) Guitarist/singer here looking for Des Moines-area bluegrass pickers who want to get together for jam sessions. As far as I can tell, Des Moines has no established, ongoing open jam, so I'm trying to get connected with like-minded folks out there. Personal taste is for bluegrass in the vein of The Bluegrass Album Band, John Hartford, Hot Rize, Jim & Jesse, the Stanley Brothers, etc. But I'm plenty open minded. If you love Sabbath, Clutch, C.O.C and have your own equipment (crazy to have to add that huh?), email us! Currently in the process of getting ready to record our next album. Ive recorded a demo album and would like to recruit musicians to play these songs and others in bars and stuff. I can do guitar, bass and vocals easy. Drums are easier for me in a studio instead of live. You can jump in wherever youre comfortable, and we can trade instruments during the set even if youd like. I say I play rock with a taste of punk and country but other people just say "its a good weird".We are looking for someone who is good at what they do, and is ready to commit to practicing 1-2 days per week (mostly weekends). We all have full-time day jobs, but we want to take this project seriously and begin performing in the Iowa City/ Cedar Rapids area.
