Just us for a presentation and book signing on opioids with CT locals Ginger and Larry Katz from the Courage to Speak Foundation. Portland Youth & Family Services "This is Us, Portland" Prevention Council welcomes everyone to join us for a presentation and book signing on April 20 at 7pm in the Portland High School Library. Ginger and Larry Katz are the nationally known founders of the Courage to Speak Foundation, and Ginger is the author of Sunny's Story, a drug prevention book. They will cover topics such as: A mothers story of her son's addictionUnderstanding the signs of drug useeffective communication strategies with youthPrevention and intervention strategies for parentsTeaching youth drug refusal skillsHelping youth cope effectively with stress and emotionsMarijuana's influence on opioid's and much moreGinger and Larry will present for about an hour, and then there will be a Q&A period. After the presentation, Ginger will be doing a book signing. Registration is encouraged, but not required. The first 25 to register for this presentation will recieve a signed copy of Ginger's book, Sunny's Story.
