MALVERN, PA — Great Valley School District earned an A+ rating and was ranked the number three school district in Chester County by data firm Niche. Data compiler Niche today released its ranking for the best Pennsylvania school districts for the 2020-2021 school year. Great Valley School District earned a A+ ratings in the specific areas of Academics, Teachers, and College Prep. It got an A in Health and Safety and a B+ in Clubs and Activities, and a B in Diversity. Great Valley School District has 4,280 students in grades K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 14 to 1. According to state test scores, 69 percent of students are at least proficient in math and 84 percent in reading. Niche used data from the U.S. Department of Education as well as test scores, college data, and ratings collected from Niche users. The methodology used by Niche is explained here. Chester County school districts rated A+ in the order of ranking are: 1st, Tredyffrin-Easttown School District 2nd, Unionville-Chaddsford School District 3rd, Great Valley School District 4th, Downingtown Area School District5th, West Chester Area School District. Earning ratings of A are: 6th, Owen J. Roberts School District 7th, Phoenixville Area School District.
