Reading In Motion’s Auxiliary Board is a group of young professionals who partner together with the organization in order to help young students become successful readers through fundraising events, supply drives, and community visibility. This event offers complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Join the Reading In Motion Auxiliary Board members on Thursday, March 15th from 5:30-7:00pm for great company and for a great cause. You don't need to read headlines daily to know that young readers across the country have been severely impacted by COVID-19. According to Education Week, more than one in three children in kindergarten through 3rd grade require intensive reading help to read at grade level by the end of the school year. We were needed before the pandemic and are now needed even more. Statistics alone fail to capture the full scope of difficulties facing developing students, but are indicative of the compounded problems affecting students. Research and experience has shown time and again the profound impact that youth literacy has on lifetime success. You know as well as we do that these problems won't just go away. Action and a commitment to long-term scholastic achievement is needed to confront this national literacy crisis. Please join us! Please see video below to learn more about Reading In Motion
