SARASOTA, FL — A pedestrian is in the hospital recovering following a crash with a vehicle, according to the Sarasota Police Department. The crash happened along the 2300 block of North Tamiami Trail (US 41) on Thursday evening. Southbound lanes of US 41 were closed between 22nd Street and 24th Street for several hours as a result, police said. The pedestrian was taken to Sarasota Memorial with injuries. It was not immediately clear what led up to the crash or if anyone will face any charges. The crash remains under investigation.
