CANTON, MA — Dunkin' is halting "all current development and investment in Russia," following its invasion of Ukraine, a Dunkin' spokesperson said in a statement.
The Canton-based coffee company has about 20 locations in Russia that are not currently set to close, as they are operated by "local, independent franchise owners," but the company will pull any corporate support in efforts to stop future development.
Since they are operated by franchise owners, legally, Dunkin' cannot shut down the shops in Russia, the company said.
Dunkin' is now the latest chain to withdraw from Russia, just two days after McDonald's and Starbucks said they would be stopping all operations in Russia.
