UNIONDALE, NY — It's almost boating season on Long Island, and in another sign of the pandemic's end, the largest boat show on LI is back this weekend. The Long Island Boat Show is happening at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This year's show features family entertainment. According to the show's website, there is a Birds of Prey wildlife show for kids, free face painting and balloon animals and a classic video game arcade. "The US Power Squadron will be there with their Boating Skills Virtual Simulator allowing you to cruise around a virtual lake while learning some important lessons including departing the dock, working with spring lines, moorings, docking and training in heavy and strong wind conditions. Free life vest for the first 100 children in attendance." The show runs noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at 1255 Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale. Children under 12 years old are free. On Friday, admission is free for active and veteran military, active and retired first responders, and health care professionals.
