EAST GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, PA — Thanksgiving weekend 2020 may not include travel and packed malls this year, but an outdoor movie might be in order.
Cub Scout Pack 122 and East Goshen Township are showing "The Grinch" movie at East Goshen Park. The 2018 film adaptation of the Dr. Seuss book is great fun, and watching it from inside a vehicle will be a first for many.
Goshen Fire Company will manage traffic on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, as people are invited to drive in and watch the movie that starts at 6 p.m. Event planners said anyone attending the Nov. 28 movie should begin gathering at 5 p.m. in the park off Paoli Pike.
Admission for one vehicle is $17.50 and a Concesssion Goody Bag for 4 can be purchased for $12. Tickets must be reserved here, ahead of the event; availability is limited by COVID-19 spacing restrictions.
Proceeds will support local Cub Scouts Pack 122.
"We anticipate the event selling out!" said the Goshen Fire Company.
"We all know this has been a unique year and holidays are challenging, but we can still make it special," East Goshen Township said on social media.
Goshen Fire Company said vehicles will be directed to the field as they arrive in the park. Everyone should remain in their cars during the movie. Restrooms will be open, and for those using them, face coverings are required, East Goshen Township said in its social media post.
A rain date of Dec. 5 has been set, and if both dates are postponed because of weather, the township said it will reschedule this event in the spring and all tickets will be honored.
