GIG HARBOR, WA — The City of Gig Harbor has a new City Administrator in Linda Kelly. City leaders confirm that, after a rigorous recruitment process, Kelly has been selected to fill the vacant leadership position. Kelly has served in local government for more than 27 years, the City said, and most recently worked as the Town Manager of Windsor, California. "Gig Harbor is full of great promise and possibilities, and I look forward to partnering with Mayor Markley, the City Council, City staff, and our civic partners as we work together to build on our strengths and strategically plan for a successful future," Kelly said. As the City Administrator, Kelly will work closely with Mayor Tracie Markley and the Gig Harbor City Council on local issues, including managing daily business, supervising City departments, and carrying out policies dictated by the council. "Linda Kelly is a true leader and professional with the experience and heart to serve the City of Gig Harbor," Markley said. "Choosing the right City Administrator is crucial to the success of our City, and we went through a lengthy process, involving City staff, Council, Commissions and Boards and Community representatives to make sure we found the best possible fit. We look forward to the energy and experience Linda will bring to the City." Kelly does not yet have a start date with the City. Once the employment agreement is complete, she will work with Interim City Administrator Tony Piasecki to create a transition plan, the City said.
