HAMDEN, CT — The Hamden police and fire departments will hold a joint recruiting and awareness event at the Keefe Community Center on Monday, March 14. The event will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 11 Pine Street. Police and firefighters will be available to answer questions. Read more from each department below: Hamden Police Recruitment Drive The Hamden Police Department (HPD) is pleased to announce that we are beginning the testing process for entry-level police officers. Hamden Firefighter – EMT Recruitment The Hamden Fire Department is pleased to announce that the Town is beginning the recruitment for Firefighter / EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians). This is the first Hamden recruitment of EMTs that are not already certified through the Connecticut Fire Academy as Firefighters, since 2006. Approximately 70 percent of HFD's calls are EMS related. Hamden is a thriving community that features a diverse population in a community of 33 square miles and more than 62,000 full time residents.
