DANBURY, CT — Police are searching for a man they say robbed and assaulted a 13-year-old after breaking into his home. At approximately 10:44 a.m. Friday, the Danbury Police Department sent officers to a residence on Wildman Street for a reported burglary in progress. Officers found a 13-year-old boy suffering from head and facial injuries, according to Det. Lt. Mark Williams in a news release. The boy told the officers that a man forced his way into the home after he answered the door, pointed a gun at him, and demanded money, according to police. When the boy did not do as asked, the man repeatedly struck him in the head and face with the handgun. The suspect stole a PlayStation before leaving the residence, Williams said in the release. Police called in a description of the man to other responding units, who located and arrested a suspect a short distance from the boy's home. Police identified the suspect as Mario Alfonso Dominguez, 18, of Farview Avenue in Danbury. The weapon and PlayStation have not been located. The incident is still under investigation. Dominguez was charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, sixth-degree larceny, disorderly conduct, first-degree assault, risk of injury to a child and home invasion. He is being held on $250,000 bond.
