LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Libertyville District 128 officials met on Monday to discuss reopening plans and, in particular, what can be done to make sure students are safely able to gather for lunch amid continued concerns over the coronavirus, school officials said. Libertyville-Vernon Hills Area High School District 128 Superintendent Prentiss Lea said trying to ensure social distancing at lunchtime will be particularly difficult if in-person instruction resumes, according to the Daily Herald. School officials say having teens eat in classrooms isn't a good option since so many buy meals on campus, and there are not enough employees to supervise students eating lunch in classrooms throughout the buildings, according to the article. District 128 is still working to determine what instructional model it will pick for in-person and/or remote learning once school resumes. Classes are set to start on Aug. 12. The next District 128 school board meeting is set for July 27. More via the Daily Herald
