Dark Heart Nursery is seeking Temporary or "Seasonal” Propagators to work on our production line in our nursery. This position will be offered based on performance assessment and availability.As a Seasonal Employee you will provide assistance during times of high volume production. This is an entry-level, non-exempt, full-time position. Overtime is paid at 1.5 X regular hourly pay rate.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Properly and precisely executes slicing of plants to ensure quality cuts;Effectively, efficiently and safely transplant plant life;Pull plants while looking for signs of pests, diseases, mold and rot;Prune stock plants to provide cuttings for propagation;Collaborates with and provides support to nursery staff within a production environment;Follow standard operating procedures at all times in a safe and compliant manner;Maintain a clean area upon completion of assigned duties and responsibilities; QUALIFICATIONS:Previous experience in agriculture or horticulture experience preferred;Organized and detailed oriented;Able to follow directions and use constructive feedback;Ability to perform repetitive tasks using hands, arms and occasionally, legs;   Ability to work independently and in collaboration with teams;Proven ability to perform a variety of tasks under time constraints and strict deadlines;Demonstrated efficiency, productivity, attention to detail, accuracy, and results orientation;Bilingual/Spanish & English a plusPHYSICAL DEMANDS: Remaining in a standing position for extended periodsAble to lift up to 25lbs regularly, 50lbs infrequentlyAbility to focus on repetitive tasks for up to 10-12 hours per workdayHand and finger dexterity required for extended periodsConsistent hand-eye coordinationWearing gloves and other required protective gear for extended periods when requiredWORK ENVIRONMENT:Climate controlled nursery conditions conducive to plant lifePersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at all times when and where requiredStrong odors from pesticide and cleaning productsNormal hours of operation Monday through Sunday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (may be subject to change depending on operational needs) Occasional loud noises from machineryEEOC STATEMENT:Dark Heart Nursery, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
