Meet Danny and Annie. They were rescued from the middle of the highway at dusk, during a rain storm over 5 months ago on the border of Montana and Idaho. When found, Danny and Annie were both severely underweight and infested with ticks. Annie had a bad eye infection and was not able to see. Her eyes had been sealed shut. Annie appeared to be relying on her brother for vision and both were lucky that they were rescued before wandering onto the highway. They were scared, but I was able to get them into my car. After initial vet visits, we later found that Annie had been shot in the head with a pellet. Since then, the pellet has been surgically removed. With months of rehabilitation, care, love, and attention, both Danny and Annie have made an incredible recovery. Danny and Annie are now looking for a family to call their own. Despite the situation they were pulled from and odds they overcame, they both are happy, playful, and loving. We would like to rehome them together as they are very bonded and at one point relied on each other for survival. They are black lab/border collie mixes and are about 10 months old. They are both very friendly towards other dogs and cats. They have received all of their vaccinations, are dewormed, received flee/tick treatments, are microchipped, and are spayed/neutered. Their vet records will be provided to their new family. Danny and Annie are shy at first with new people but warm up to you with gentle and positive reinforcement. They are both very affectionate and loving. A fence is a must and they must be allowed inside and outside of the home. They are both kennel-trained and potty-trained. They do know sit and we are working on leash training and other commands. They show no aggression of any kind.
