LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Libertyville High School switched things up this year, hosting a drive through homecoming parade in on Saturday. Clubs, athletic teams and the homecoming court lined a route through the campus as parents, students and alumni drove by. The band performed as did the cheer and dance teams. Cars drove through the campus between 10 and 10:45 a.m. to show their support and enjoy the turned around parade. Typically, the homecoming parade route runs down Milwaukee Avenue. But amid COVID-19 times, students had to adapt. Still, this year's reverse parade was well-received as there was a steady stream of cars decorated with orange and black driving through, the Daily Herald reports. "I think it's going great. The kids are super-excited to be here and celebrate homecoming in a different waythis year," Student Activities Director Jennifer Uliks told them newspaper. "Although we couldn't have a traditional parade, we thought 'why not have a reverse parade?'"
