This is a part time position, 12 to 15 hours per week, flexible days. $17 per hour. Duties: Responsible for keeping house clean, maintained, and organized to a high standard and according to my specifications and preferences. Laundry, including lots of towels used in garden work and with pets, as well as casual and dress clothing and household linens. Responsible for stain removal, properly caring for dress clothing, ironing, neatly folding and organizing clothing in drawers and closets. Vacuuming, dusting, kitchen cleanup, loading and unloading dishwasher, cleaning bathrooms, some cleaning of garden/plant-related items. Weekly gather all household garbage and recycling and take bins to end of driveway for pickup, return bins to garage. Deep cleaning periodically throughout the year. (House is approximately 2,700 square feet.) Responsible for maintaining necessary inventory of household supplies for cleaning and maintenance, paper products, drinking water, etc., and listing items that need to be replaced. Putting groceries away, sometimes grocery shopping (during work hours, and compensated for gas). May be asked to run other errands or accompany me to medical appointments, and drive on the trip home. Shredding paperwork containing personal/confidential information. Put bleach in A/C unit once a month. Maintain house water filtering system by pouring ten 1-gallon jugs of hydrogen peroxide into tank, monthly. The perfect candidate would be responsible for upkeep of the home as if it were their own: restocking supplies, changing lightbulbs, maintaining appliances in good working condition, maintaining hurricane shutters (periodic oiling), advising office manager of any problems or repairs necessary, so service appointments can be scheduled. Skills required: English speaking, and ability to understand and communicate clearly. Punctual, respectful (as you will be treated with respect). Must be energetic and have a great attitude at all times. Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities, above and beyond attitude, with a keen eye for detail. Must have valid driver’s license and own car to travel to and from work (no oil leakers). Ability to move some furniture (sofa) in order to clean behind/under it and assist in lifting heavy boxes for attic storage. Confidentiality (what you hear in the house stays in the house). Knowledge of technology is a strong plus. I enjoy a harmonious environment with pleasant and responsible people. I have two other employees who are good natured and easy to get along with, and I desire the same of my housekeeper.
