Camarillo Scorpion Athletics is looking to recruit and train PA announcers for various sports. It’s an exciting opportunity to be part of championship teams, talented student athletes and the community in general. It’s a lot of work and demands a commitment but the rewards are great. If you have a voice conducive to announcing, even if you’ve never done it before, we would love to talk to you. A short online class, some auditioning on the mic and an in person interview with our Athletic Director is required. Former athletes make good candidates but not necessary. I have never played organized sports and I announce games. We are looking for back up announcers as well. The sports needed for PA announcing and back up announcers are boys and girls volleyball, boys and girls basketball, baseball, softball, boys and girls water polo. As of now we have an announcer and back up for football. There are opportunities in basketball to announce lower level game to gain experience. In addition we are always seeking scorekeepers who have a knack for running a scoreboard for gym and stadium sports. If you want a new and exiting challenge please contact me. Jeff Hahn
