Bonded Male Chinchillas Available for Adoption

Hi there! We are a private small pet rescue, and we now have two bonded male chinchillas, Twiggy and Elm, that are ready for their forever home! We have been working with these boys socially, and they really are such sweet and active pets! Twiggy and Elm are approximately 2 years old. Chinchillas are nocturnal and most active at dawn and dusk. During the evening we like to set up a playpen in front of their cage which allows them to adventure out as they please. We like to sit in the pen with them and they will run around and hop into your lap to play with you. Most chinchillas do not prefer to be cuddled, but they do have other ways they like to interact with you. They are so fun to watch-they will run, play and jump around the cage during the evening and at night. During the day they will snuggle up with each other in their favorite hide and rest. Twiggy and Elm are very similar looking and sometimes it is hard to tell them apart! When these two first came to us, Elm was very grumpy and timid, but he quickly warmed up to us. Now he and Twiggy are both very outgoing and silly boys. Pet chinchillas are a big commitment. They can live up to 20 years if cared for properly and they are very active animals. They need large cages and daily interaction, as well as enrichment to keep them stimulated. They are not suitable pets for children and these boys will need someone experienced with chinchillas or someone who is willing to learn. Chinchillas are sensitive animals and it is important you do proper research before committing to the species.
