Concord Police Seek Witnesses, Info After South End Shooting

CONCORD, NH — Police in Concord are seeking witnesses and information after an early morning shooting in the South End Thursday. At just before 3 a.m., officers were sent to the area of Pierce and Perley streets for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found "numerous pieces of evidence at the scene" that proved "live rounds were fired," Deputy Chief John Thomas of the Concord Police Department said. "According to eye witness accounts, the individual believed to have fired the rounds off retreated from the area shortly after firing the weapon," Thomas said. "The weapon is believed to be a handgun." No injuries have been reported due to the shooting. "This incident is very concerning, since this area of the city is heavily populated," he said. "The Concord Police Department is seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any knowledge of what transpired."
