Description

Portland! We have NEVER done this and have never had to but it has been a nightmare… we have had the unfortunate experience of being some of 10 people (6 separate houses) that have moved out (3 of the units breaking our leases) from 6420 and 6410 SE 103rd Ave, which used to be managed by InterWest Properties and now is OWNED by Equity First Painting at 6404 Manatee Ave in Bradenton, FL. They don’t have a management company (at least they didn’t still when we left) despite taking over in early Fall 2021. We (please let us stay anonymous) noticed that they don’t seem to understand Oregon Tenant Rights Law and we think the main reason they bought the apartments was to flip it, not totally sure. Thankfully we were able to leave. Most of the tenants that are still there are poor/disenfranchised and don’t seem to have the ability to, our assumption. We didn’t feel comfortable saying this before we left cause were concerned about our deposit. We’re sorry but hope this helps. When they took over we got a note on our door that honestly seemed like a scam. We looked them up and their website talks about how Jesus and God fuel there business. Regardless of your views on religion, do you want your landlord naming Jesus as their business partner (maybe you do and that’s fine, we believe in separating church and state)? That’s not even close to the main issue. There has been a raw sewage leak at the apartment for months and it is LEAKING INTO JOHNSON’s CREEK because the original owner that flipped the property (InterWest was just the management company) only worked on the surface. InterWest was also dishonest about almost everything aka don’t trust Andrea she lies! She’s a sales person and good at it. Back to the raw sewage: We originally thought it was the homeless but the only place that smells like raw sewage is at the apartments. Two of the units that people moved out of are right next to it so seriously beware. The apartments also have the thinnest walls you ever experienced in your life, one of our roommates joked the house was “made of paper”. The entire apartment shakes when your neighbor just walks normally and you can hear an inside voice level convo. Almost nothing inside works. It’s insane! There is also a gnarly rat problem because of the homeless camps and there is trash everywhere around the apartments. We used to have a gardener but everything seemed to go to hell when Equity First took over. Emma (office assistant or something) seems nice but it’s hard to believe any of the people involved could be decent at this point…. Long story short—unless you want to live next to rats, raw sewage, trash, or never sleep, DON’T RENT HERE. They gave us all a free month of rent as an incentive and it is NOT WORTH IT. Just. Don’t. Do. It.
