LEMONT, IL — Lemont has seen an increase in confirmed cases of the the new coronavirus as the outbreak in Illinois jumped by almost 1,000 cases in the past 24 hours. County data confirmed 15 cases of COVID-19 in Lemont: one case in DuPage County and 14 in Cook County. However, Will County does not report cases by town, so a definitive case count for the village is unknown. According to Johns Hopkins University and the Illinois Department of Public Health, the state now has 6,980 cases as of Wednesday. The state has also seen 141 deaths related to the virus.
