MILLBRAE, CA – The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is searching for three teenage suspects who robbed a man Friday after displaying a large knife early Friday morning before fleeing on foot, police said.
The victim was walking alone in the 1400 block of El Camino Real just before 12:30 a.m. when three males began to follow the man. One of the suspects, believed to be a white male, 17-18 years of age, with a thin build and wearing a hooded jacket and a black face mask with a scull face design, stepped in front of the man, opened his jacket and displayed a large knife.
When the victim began to flee in the opposite direction, two other suspects – a white or Hispanic teen, age 17 or 18, with a heavy build wearing a white T-shirt and a black face mask and a white male, age 17 or 18, wearing a black face mask – blocked the victim's path and kept him from escaping.
The suspects demanded the man's property, which he surrendered, police said.
The victim, who was not injured, fled into a hotel lobby for help. The suspects ran generally eastbound across El Camino Real and were last seen running east on Santa Maria Avenue. San Bruno Police and Millbrae Bureau Deputies looked for the suspects, but they were not located. The investigation is ongoing to locate any security video that may assist in identifying the suspects.
