Summary Installs, maintains, and repairs irrigation systems including replacing valves, switches, and contacts. Duties and Responsibilities ● Seasonal Start-ups/Shut-downs of irrigation systems. ● Repairs and replaces copper work, hoses, pipes, and different types of sprinkler heads & fixtures. ● Operates timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers. ● Replaces or repairs irrigation valves. ● Installs or repairs irrigation lines. ● May assist in various maintenance activities as required. ● Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies. ● Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements ● High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required ● Ability to install, operate, troubleshoot and repair manual and/or computerized irrigation systems. ● Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions. ● Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. ● Ability to perform irrigation tasks such as electrical troubleshooting, operate timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers. ● Knowledge of manual and/or computerized irrigation systems. Conditions of Employment ● A valid Colorado driver's license will be required if a motor vehicle must be operated on the job. ● Due to the seasonal nature of the work overtime may be required. ● Good attitude, punctual, teachable, trustworthy, values client satisfaction, and communicates effectively. ● Certifications Preferred. ● Potential Health Care Option. Working Conditions and Physical Effort ● Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. ● Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. ● Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
