Twice a Month Garbage Service in Polk County??

Anyone sick of seeing their curbside trash sit there for weeks on end? It's a health hazard. It attracts rodents. It stinks. It reduces the beauty of our properties not to mention the values. I don't know about anyone else, but I can't even begin my utility room clean-out (which I want to do immediately!) because I have no idea when the trash will be picked up and my can has already been sitting on the curb for TWO WEEKS (along with everyone else's) and is full. The landfill answers the phone only after a 20-minute wait. Everyone, please call the County Commissioners and complain (I already did,..twice). They are currently answering the phone . If we can't get this fixed immediately, we might want to think about taking our trash to the County Commissioner's office and start leaving it there. We didn't have these problems when the county was contracted with Republic.
