MARIN COUNTY, CA — The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus continues to hold steady as only one new person tested positive in Marin County, county health officials reported Tuesday. To date, 241 county residents have tested positive and 13 have died with no new deaths being reported on Tuesday.
According to data from the Marin County Health and Human Services Department, 188 people have recovered while only one person remains hospitalized in the county. Southern Marin County has reported 47 cases while 38 cases have been confirmed in Central Marin.
Of the confirmed cases, 57 percent are male with the largest number of confirmed cases being reported in people between the ages of 50-64 (29 percent), 26 percent coming in people older than 65 and 24 percent being diagnosed in people between the ages of 35-49.
The newly reported numbers come as Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Tuesday that certain segments of the state's retail community could begin to reopen by Friday and at a time when case counts and deaths across Northern California are beginning to slow.
In California, there are now 56,212 cases – 1,275 were reported on Tuesday and 2,317 deaths, of which 63 were reported since Monday.
