LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School's Drama Club will put on its first virtual production on Nov. 20-21 with a comedic double feature. According to the school, scenes from "Left to Our Own Devices" will precede the main stage production of "Replacing Linda." Shows will begin at 7 p.m. on both Friday, Nov. 20, and Saturday, Nov. 21. Tickets for the show are $6 for students and seniors, $9 for adults, and $18 for families and groups. A streaming service fee applies to each ticket. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.showtix4u.com and searching "Lemont High School" before choosing the event. For several months, the school said the Drama Club has been virtually rehearsing, designing, attending make-up workshops, recording scenes and editing, and the students are excited to showcase a pair of light-hearted and timely takes on virtual life. The school said pre-show will consist of witty and relatable small scenes from "Left to Our Own Devices" that all take place via phone or video chat. These characters relate to each other in real time, but from separate locations - much like what life looks like today. The main characters in the featured presentation - "Replacing Linda" - find themselves in the predicament of replacing their best administrative assistant just as the business they co-own is expanding, the school said. Desperate to fill the big shoes left behind by Linda, Megan and Wade conduct a series of virtual interviews for her replacement in front of the company's board of directors (the audience). Both productions will be performed under the direction of Paula Smith and Leslie Kane.
