Have you ever wanted to be a beekeeper?
Here's your chance. Chris Lenway from Lanoix's Apairy will be leading a 4 part beekeeping series for beginners. This 4 part series will be an introduction into beekeeping and will take you through the first year in beekeeping. Each class is $50 and will be held on Saturdays from 9 am - 10:30 am. Buy tickets for all 4 classes for $175.
Class 1 - March 12 - You will learn all about the basics. This includes safety, equipment needed, the laws about beekeeping, and bee basics.
Class 2 - May 21 - You will learn about hive inspections, introduction into IPM (Integrated pest management), and Pesticides.
Class 3 - July 23 - You will learn about honey production, products from the hive, queen rearing basics, and how to feed your bees. For this class we will suit up and open the hives at Good Enough Farm. Don't forget your beekeeper suit!
Class 4 - August 13 - You will learn about pre-wintering vigilance, how to winter your bees, IPM for the winter, and winter beekeeping tasks. For this class we will suit up and open the hives at Good Enough Farm. Don't forget your beekeeper suit!
