Description
LEMONT, IL — Lynn Antonopoulos, a long-time Lemont resident, has been appointed by the Lemont High School District 210 Board of Education to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of former board member Mary Tally. Antonopoulos was sworn in as a member of the District 210 Board of Education at a special meeting on Nov. 9.
The appointment for Antonopoulos will be temporary, as the timing of Tally's resignation will result in a two-year term being available during the Spring 2021 election, the district said. A four-year term next will be available for this Board of Education position in Spring 2023.
Antonopoulos has been a member of the Lemont High School Educational Foundation Board of Directors since 2015 and has served multiple terms as the LHSEF's secretary. According to the district, Antonopoulos previously served for seven years as a member of the Lemont Junior Woman's Club, which included two stints as the organization's secretary, as well as a Girl Scout troop leader. She currently holds a position as a board member for a dance studio, City Nation Studios.
Antonopoulos serves as a copywriter for the Radiological Society of North America, and has accumulated 30 years of experience in the areas of sales, marketing and technical writing, the district said. She and her husband, Lockie, have two children – Mira '17 and Sophia '20 – who are both Lemont High School alumnae.
