MANCHESTER, NH - A 4-year-old boy was killed Thursday after police say that the youth was struck by a vehicle that was found with a single occupant parked nearby.
Manchester Police were called to the area of Flaherty Lane and the alley south of Schuyler Street at around 3 p.m. for a report of a child hit by a vehicle. On arrival, officers located the boy lying in the alley. The child was unconscious and not breathing.
MPD Spokesperson Heather Hamel that a GMC pickup truck with one occupant was located parked nearby. Through their investigation police determined that the 39-year-old male driver had been taking a right turn into the alley and struck the child.
The circumstances surrounding this accident are still under investigation and currently no charges have been filed. Hamel said there is no further information at this time, and the name of the victim or driver is not being released.
