Showtime at 7PM Tickets $20 Please note: FurstWurld Requires proof of vaccination or a 72 hour covid test at the door. ________________ Hanna Haas is a singer-songwriter drawn to the dance between the light and dark. Though currently based in Portland, Oregon she has come to call the entire West Coast her home. Hanna’s music could be described as contemplative folk, identifying with artists Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, and Feist for their alternate tunings and reposeful, haunting melodies. Hanna sings of the mysteries of life and death and the simple beauties of this ephemeral mortal experience, drawing inspiration from the numerous west coast landscapes she has inhabited. Hanna Haas performs solo and as a duo (mainly cello as accompaniment). Hanna loves to engage her audiences in sweet story-telling and laughter, leaving her audience in a state of heart-felt introspection. Her debut album is called, “To Her, the Sea”. Each song seeks to capture the blessings and curses of our lives and the beauty of both—such as how warm and pleasant the sun feels after many days of rain, how bright the stars can shine amidst such darkness, how small one can feel when looking up at the vast Pacific Northwest sky. Grief, heartbreak, softening, and surrender, and a hope for redemption and solace through it all. The album is produced and engineered by Sean Ogilvie at his home studio in Southeast Portland. The album features Zach Gerzon on cello, Luke Ydstie of Blind Pilot on bass,Dan Hunt of Neko Case on drumsJeremy Ferrera on backup guitar, Nate Crockett of Horse Feathers on violin, Micah Rabwin on drums and saw, Denzel Mendoza on trombone, Philippe Bronchtein on backup guitar and keys, Jeffrey Martin on backup vocals. ______________ Mimi Gilbert Having travelled the world performing both solo and with her band, Mimi Gilbert has played nation-wide in the US, and toured throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Mimi was born and raised in California, where she first began singing and performing in public. At the age of 15, Mimi bought her first battery-powered amp and took to the streets of California cities. There, she learnt the art of story-telling, the impact of vulnerability, and the power of her voice. Gilbert has opened for Julia Jacklin in Melbourne, Angie McMahon in LA, Lydia Cole and Nadia Reid in New Zealand to name a few. During her years on the road, Gilbert has worked quietly, honing her craft and recording songs. She is now based between Melbourne, Australia and Los Angeles.
