This course is a gentle intro to Tai Chi & Chan (Zen), two powerful practices that, when combined, can help us to discover our inner wisdom. Upload your COVID-19 Vaccine Record here: tinyurl.com/vaccinecardupload 3. Checkout a ticket here on Eventbrite for each section you will be attending (there are THREE sections. You may participate in all three sections or as many/few as you like). You may also drop-in for a class(es) instead of signing up for the whole section. In that case, please complete Steps 1 and 2 above and make your minimum donation requirement of $20 in cash or check upon entering the Zen Center. There are 4 classes in each section. This page is for Section 2 (to sign up for Section 1 and/or Section 3, please navigate to those respective Eventbrite pages and checkout your tickets there). When you sign up, you are signing up to commit to taking all 4 classes in the section. Class is on Fridays from 5pm-6:30pm. Section 2 Dates: Mar. 4, 11, 18, 25 This course is a gentle introduction to Tai Chi (Tai Chi Chuan, or Taijiquan) & Chan (Zen). By combining these two powerful practices in which Chan is applied to Tai Chi, this unified practice of Tai Chi Chan will be a unique tool for discovering our inner wisdom. You will learn: - foundational Tai Chi moves and a short Chen Style Taijiquan routine - Chan meditation - how Chan practice and Tai Chi practice can supplement and enhance each other - ways to integrate learnings from movement meditation into our daily life This course is suitable for: - beginners to Tai Chi and/or Chan (no prior experience is required); - intermediate Tai Chi students who are exploring ways to transform their practice; - meditators who want to learn Chan and how to practice Chan while doing Tai Chi INSTRUCTOR Yan Li, PhD, is a Master Instructor of Taijiquan certified through American Chen Taiji Society. She has over a decade’s experience teaching Tai Chi and holds gold medals from regional martial art tournaments.
