Description
Lemont Police Department once again launched into "No Shave November/December" raising funds to assist persons in our community who are battling cancer.
The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing one's hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free. Donating the money one typically spends on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle.
Lemont Police Department began participation in "No Shave November" in 2017 and have since raised thousands of dollars for families here in our community by donating to grow beards or to wear nail polish (for the female officers).
This year the Lemont Police Department has committed to donate the funds they raise to help two Lemont mom's who are battling breast cancer. Both are moms of two young children, handling the year of COVID chaos, and fighting to be on the other side of this intense battle evolving with the badge of survivor. These moms and families are deep in the battle and any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated and graciously received.
If you would like to donate please drop off or send donations to the Lemont Police Department. Attn: Sgt. Dykshorn 14600 127th St., Lemont, IL 60439. Checks can be made out to the Lemont Police Benevolent Association with "No Shave November" in the memo section.
Thank you Lemont Police Department for not only serving and protecting but offering what you can as you are able for all of us who live in this corner of the world.
