Description
Help us to make a difference in this cause so Iowa families have hope and access to help in covering the costs of care for their child. Parents of children with disabilities help their child face barriers every day. It is especially true for mothers who usually handle most of a child’s specialized care. Our heart goes out to every Iowa mom, family, and caregiver who is advocating on behalf of her child living with a disability. Unexpected challenges can arise on a daily basis with accompanying expenses, stress, and uncertainty. We have experienced this firsthand when providing support to Iowans and mothers who have children with disabilities. This is why we have partnered with the Story County Community Foundation to raise funds specifically for Iowans to use towards the cost of care. Able Up Iowa is a state-wide nonprofit that provides financial resources and education to individuals with disabilities. Through this fund, Iowa care givers will be able to apply for a loan or forgivable loan funding to help cover the costs of care for their child. Able Up Iowa shares a vision for all Iowans living with disabilities that they should have the ability to overcome obstacles and achieve independence. Will you join us in establishing the Iowa Women Are Able Fund? We have set the goal of raising $10,000 to start and are seeking gifts between $100 and $500 (or more) to help reach that goal. your contribution makes. If you need more information, purchase a $25 ticket to the Iowa Women Are Able event to learn more about the program fund. If you are ready to support Iowa families who have extra costs for care by contributing to this fund, please mail a check to Able Up Iowa, c/o Iowa Women Are Able, 130 South Sheldon Ave., Suite 201, Ames, Iowa 50014.
