Description

Hello, my family and I had a neighbor who moved about 4 months ago, they had a 1yo dog they could no longer take care of, they didn't know what to do, couldn't find a new home for her and were going to have the dog picked up by the humane society so we decided to take her in. Her name is Sophia. She is now closer to 1.5yo, she is all black with small amounts of white. We thought we could rehome her, or at the very least find her a forever home if it didn't work out. Over the last few months we have decided that we just don't have the time or space that she needs. As parents of 4, having 2 dogs and a cat before she came along, we just don't have the space or time she deserves. She is highly energetic and loving, a home with a large back yard or a owner with time to take her on long daily walks is what she needs. She is a medium to large sized dog, she is playful and intelligent. She is house trained, crate trained for at night and very protective. She doesn't bark alot but will bark when a visitor is at the door. She has tons of energy, she walks well on a leash, we have let her off the leash a few times and she comes back to us but I'm not sure I'd let her off the leash in the presence of a unknown dog, she may take off to meet it.. She gets along with other dogs and cats after she knows them but on initial meeting, she is stand off-ish, perhaps even aggressive at times until she knows them. She is great with children, zero concerns there but can be aggressive while eating and another dog attempts to eat as well from the same bowl, However our 2yo daughter gets in her face while she eats at times and I have never once seen any aggression towards humans. She is not fixed but is up to date on all her shots from the vet with paperwork. The main reason we would like to rehome her is because she has so much energy and no place to unleash it regularly. She still acts young and learns quickly, we have taught her to sit, shake, stand up on hind legs, ect. We are asking a small rehoming fee of fifty dollars to insure she goes to a good home, it's not about the money, it's entirely to insure not just anyone takes her but only someone who truly desires her as a companion if that makes sense.
