SARASOTA, FL — The Robert L. Taylor Community Complex announced it is partnering with the Sarasota Police Department to offer a special K.O.P.S. (Kids and Officers Promoting Solidarity) spring break event on Wednesday, March 16, from 8 p.m. to midnight. Registration is now open.
The after-hours youth program will be hosted at the RLTCC and is open to 50 participants ages 12 to 16. Parents can enjoy a night out while kids can take part in activities including basketball, volleyball, wiffleball, video games, pool tables and more. Food and refreshments will be provided along with a fun, safe environment.
"The goal of this program is to build positive relationships between kids and officers in our area," said Arthur Larkins, manager of the RLTCC. "Creating these relationships goes a long way toward building community."
Registration is required and available online at https://kops-spring-break.eventbrite.com.
Registration can also be completed in person by visiting the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex at 1845 34th St. in Sarasota. The first 50 participants who register and attend will receive a T-shirt along with the opportunity to utilize the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex facilities for the remainder of spring break.
