Animal-themed art show to raise money for Defenders of Animals! After two years of COVID-related postponements and delays, we are officially back on for The Third Annual Art for Animals! Come enjoy free food, wine, music, raffles and animal themed art by local artists. All proceeds go to Defenders of Animals. Defenders works hard actively keeping pets out of shelters by finding placements for local animals in need and by helping low income owners pay vet bills so they don't have to surrender their pets. They are also champions of animal friendly legislation in Rhode Island. Defenders of Animals there for me personally when my dad died in 2015. I frantically looked for resources to help me re-home his beloved dog Molly without surrendering her to a shelter and found that no one except Defenders of Animals was willing and able to help me. It was such a huge relief when I met Dennis, and he was able to find an amazing home for Molly. The funds raised by the past two Art for Animals events have had a huge impact on some very special animals in Rhode Island. Thanks to your support, Periwinkle the cat was able to get insulin for his diabetes and afford the special medicated food he needs. Seamus the dog got a new wheelchair to support his hind legs, and after Jacob the poodle was hit by a car, Defenders of Animals was able to pay for the surgery on his broken leg and find him a new, loving home. This annual Art for Animals event is the primary source of funding for Defenders of Animals. The funds raised this year are crucial so they can continue their mission and help as many animals and pet owners as possible. We hope to see you there!
