A FUN Intro to New Adventures in Learning - FREE New Adventures In Learning - A Panel DiscussionNew Adventures in Learning has been offering lifelong learning classes for more than 20 years. Run entirely by volunteers, it is affiliated with Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC). Lectures, round-table group discussions, and field trips have been enjoyed by the members due to the diversity of subjects and the passion of the volunteer presenters. Neighbors Who Care is hosting a panel of three presenters: Bill Haskell; Gene Lariviere; and Rob Truman. Bill Haskell, our past president, will give you an introduction to New Adventures and what we offer the community and how we operate. Bill has presented numerous presentations on American history including sessions covering the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. He also leads our book club. Gene Lariviere, is both a retired physician and, prior to becoming a full-time Sun Lakes resident, a presenter at the senior learning program at Dartmouth College. He will give you a sample as to what to expect at one of our classes.Gene has presented a diverse group of programs including one about the great the molasses spill, another on the great escape from the prisoner of war camp here in Arizona, to one about the orphan train disaster also in Arizona. Rob Truman, our current president, will give you information on how to get to enjoy the many benefits of becoming a New Adventures in Learning member. Rob conducts many sessions on how to cut the cord and get TV and cable programs, and others on various aspects of technology. This is but a small sampling of what you can expect during our presentation to Neighbor's Who Care addresses the physical well-being of our clients; NAILs addresses keeping minds active and offers an avenue to meet new people and explore interests.
