Press release from the City of Knoxville - Blog: March 8, 2022 Gunshot Victim Found Near Humes Street Identified (March 8, 2022, 1 p.m.) The gunshot victim who was located near the railroad tracks in the 200 block of Humes Street on Monday morning has been positively identified as Jeremy Paul, 44 of Knoxville, Tennessee. KPD Violent Crimes Unit investigators are continuing their investigation into the shooting. No suspects have been arrested or charged at this time. Tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible to receive a cash reward. ------ At around 1:20 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2022, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to the area of E. Jackson Avenue and Morgan Street on the report of a gunshot victim. Responding officers located a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound near the railroad tracks in the 200 block of Humes Street. The victim, who has not yet been identified and believed to be homeless at this time, was pronounced dead on the scene. The body was transported to the Regional Forensic Center for identification and further examination. Investigators and Crime Lab personnel processed the scene throughout the morning and continue to canvas for any additional evidence or leads. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.
