AMHERST, NH — Police in Amherst responded to a number of calls between Aug. 5 and Aug. 12. The highlights — including a car striking a deer, multiple car break-ins and three arrests — are included below. Also included are single reports from Aug. 1 and 2. Aug. 1 10:57 a.m. — Police in Amherst responded to a crash with no injuries on Route 101. Officers were called when a car struck a deer. Aug. 2 Overnight — Police responded to a person on Manchester Road who reported a theft had occurred overnight. Aug. 5 10:57 a.m. — Amherst police investigated a hit-and-run with no injuries on Boston Post Road. 11:22 p.m. — police responded to a single-vehicle accident on Lyndeborough Road with no injuries reported. 10:00 p.m. — Celia Pratt, 22, or Hooksett, was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled drug and on a warrant from Hillsborough County Superior Court - North. She was released on a PR bail with a court date set in the Milford District Court. Aug. 6 Overnight — Police in Amherst investigated a reported theft that happened overnight on Route 101. Aug. 7 6:07 p.m. — Police responded to a two-car accident on Route 101 with minor injuries reported. Aug. 8 8:30 p.m. — Nathaniel Breire, 18, of Pelham, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled drug and unlawful possession of alcohol. He was released on a summons to return to Milford District Court. Aug. 9 Overnight — Police investigated a theft from a motor vehicle that happened overnight on Mosswood Circle. Overnight — Police investigated another theft from a motor vehicle overnight on Deerwood Drive. Overnight — A third theft from a motor vehicle was reported overnight on Nathaniel Drive. 4:30 p.m. — a summons was issued to Ann Aubut to appear in Milford District Court on a charge of criminal mischief. Aug. 10 7:43 a.m. — Police responded to Amherst Street for a report of a car striking a cyclist. The cyclist was taken to a hospital for treatment of his or her injuries. Aug. 12 12:25 a.m. — Police arrested Andrew Estes, 57, of Amherst, on charges of domestic violence simple assault and criminal mischief. He was released on a personal recognizance bond with an arraignment set for Oct. 13 in Milford District Court.
