CLEVELAND — One person is dead and three others were hospitalized due to carbon monoxide poisoning in Cleveland, fire officials said.
Fire crews were sent Thursday evening to a Pierpont Avenue home, near East 105th Street in the city's Glenville neighborhood, the Cleveland Division of Fire said. A 72-year-old man was declared dead. Three people — a-59-year-old woman, a 37-year-old man and a 43-year-old man — were taken to a hospital.
WJW-TV reported the man's wife and two adult children were the people hospitalized. Firefighters were called when the couple's third son saw the father's car in the driveway.
"One of the sons live in the basement, another on the first floor. The parents were up on the second floor. There was a propane heater on the second floor where they found the mother and father," Chief Angelo Calvillo told the TV station.
An investigation remains ongoing.
