Fire Engulfs Paulus Park Barn In Lake Zurich

LAKE ZURICH, IL — Programs scheduled to take place this week at the Paulus Park Barn at 200 S. Rand Road have been cancelled after flames engulfed the Lake Zurich facility Saturday night, according to Village officials. The Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Department said the cause of the fire is still being investigated nearly two days after heavy flames broke out at the barn facility. Fire officials said department crews were called at 8:25 p.m. Saturday to a structure fire at Paulus Park Barn. The first units on site saw heavy fire coming from the building (see photos), and more resources were called in. No one was inside the building when the fire broke out, according to the fire department. The fire was quickly brought under control and no injuries were reported, the department said, adding that they want to thank their "mutual aid partners, dispatchers, police department, and public works for their assistance." >> More updates
