Here are the top five stories today in Raleigh: Several 911 calls and witness statements in January, led officers to believe that Daniel Turcios was intoxicated during the confrontation on I-440. An autopsy report has now revealed that Turcios had no drugs or alcohol in his body at the time of death. Family and advocates have maintained that Turcios was disoriented from the crash, and body camera footage shows the knife that officers were threatened by. (WRAL)It's Severe Weather Preparedness Week and the city of Raleigh's stormwater management team is working on a pilot program to help predict flooded areas before they happen. The goal is to forecast flooding to deploy first responders faster to block off roads and deter traffic in flooded areas. The pilot program will help track rainfall across the city, even if storm gauges are not already present, and will send alerts to the team that predict potential flooding. (Spectrum News 1)The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina is struggling with the cost of inflation. As inflation continues, more families are in need of assistance and fewer donations are coming in. In February inflation hit a 40-year high, and the resources they do have available are not going as far. The food bank is asking for donations as well as volunteers to help provide much needed aid to the community. (WITN, abc11)Concerns around gas prices continue to grow, and as some states have begun proposing a "gas tax holiday," Governor Roy Cooper says his administration will "carefully review" the possibility. North Carolina's gas tax is about 36 cents per gallon with an additional federal tax of 18 cents per gallon. That revenue is the largest funding source for the state Department of Transportation. (CBS17) In the mean time, a statewide program, Share The Ride NC, is connecting drivers with others who are looking to carpool. (CBS17)On Friday, the North Carolina Supreme Court upheld a ruling by the Court of Appeals that said the state's law prohibiting members of the LGBTQ+ community from getting a restraining order against a partner is unconstitutional. The ruling cited the U.S. Supreme Court's 2015 judgement that deemed bans on same-sex marriage unconstitutional and therefore established the constitutional right to the protective order in same-sex relationships.
