We are a growing professional urban tree care company in Washington, DC. We are looking for career-oriented individuals who want to become a Certified Arborist and Urban Tree Climber. Earn great money with increased experience. This is a four year apprenticeship program, with a fifth year option leading to increased opportunities. Previous experience is not required, we are more interested in hiring the right type of individual. We look for people who possess a high level of interest and enthusiasm for this work. Previous education and experience is a plus. An apprentice will learn to perform the following: - Climbing and working in trees. - Tree Planting. - Pruning trees of all sizes for health and aesthetics. - Removing trees and stump grinding. - Treatment of stressed trees (fertilization, root zone aeration, etc). - Survey/Inventory of trees on lots under development. We offer a flexible work schedule design for vacation or personal business. Apprentices are required to work toward their International Society of Arboriculture Certification. The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) may require up to 3 years of work experience before one is eligible to take the certification exam. Applicants must have a valid driver's license. Ability to drive a truck and trailer in the city is also a plus. Most jobs are within DC, some are in bordering counties of Maryland and Virginia.
