CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — As another 66 cases of the coronavirus and one COVID-19 death were reported Thursday in Contra Costa County, the county's health department announced it is collecting cloth face masks from donors interested in helping the county outfit essential workers and residents.
Masks will be distributed to people such as home-based care providers for disabled adults, child care providers and people who are part of congregate living facilities, Contra Costa County said on its website.
The county is collecting a slew of other items such as googles, N-95 masks, toilet paper, new pillows and more for health care providers, COVID-19 patients and care centers. See all items the county is collecting here.

As of Thursday, there was a cumulative total of 5,233 cases of the coronavirus reported in Contra Costa County since the start of the outbreak, including 3,942 patients who have recovered. There have been 98 cases reported in Martinez.
